In the UFL 2011 Superbowl the Varsity Dawgs and the Atlanta Assassins squared off for the third time this season. The Assassins swept the Dawgs both matches but every one knows its the Superbowl that is the game that matters. Both teams made it to the big game on two unlikely quarterbacks. Cam Newton was the rookie picked up in the sixteenth round of the draft by the Varsity Dawgs and Matt Stafford who has been riddled with injuries in past seasons was picked up by the Assassins.

The Dawgs had the best record in the league at 11-4 so this was no fluff team. In the biggest game of the seasons the Dawgs were looking to erase the losses to the Assassins and take the crown as the 2011 UFL Champion. The Assassins had different plans. Knowing the odds of beating the same team of such a high caliber three times in a season would be a monumental task.

The Assassins came out and posted the highest score of the season. Amassing 425 points, the Assassins handed the Dawgs a third loss and became the 2011 Champion of the UFL. While no likes to lose, the Dawgs can hold their heads high. Only the two best teams make it to the Superbowl and they have bragging rites to making it to the big game.

Congrats to the Dawgs for being the biggest turn around team from last season to this season but also for being gracious in defeat. Coach Stan has been a big influence on the league and is always collaborating with us on ideas and changes. Co captain of the Dawgs Lorenzo deserves praise for his help with turning the team into Superbowl contenders as well. If any openings come up for next season Lorenzo will have first chance at the spot to have a team of his own.

The Nice Guys Finish Last winner is the Kentucky Grizzlies. You will have the honors of having the # 1 pick in the 2012 Draft. Coach AJ of the Hillside Hellraisers will have the # 2 pick of the 2012 Draft. I guess congrats are in order here, you have the top 2 Draft picks for 2012 but it means you had a terrible season for 2011. Good luck to you both and hope your able to use these draft spots to give your teams a better record next season.

The winner of the Chaos Game is Coach Chris W of the Snellville Sweeneys. His team outscored Coach Kyle, Duke, Scott, Jarod, & Steve with a high score of 259 pts in week 16.  The Sweeneys will have the 3rd pick in the 2012 Draft. Congrats to you Coach Chris, look forward to another exciting season playing you in 2012.

    Draft order for 2012:

     #1 Kentucky Grizzlies

     #2 Hillside Hellraisers

     #3 Snellville Sweeneys

    #4 Lilburn Long Johnsons

    #5  Average Joe's

    #6 Boomerang Bombers

    #7 Gwinnett Gunslingers

    #8  Madison Maulers

   #9  Dacula Destroyers

   #10 Toledo All*Stars

   #11 Varsity Dawgs

   # 12 Atlanta Assassins

We will be making several changes in the league for the 2012 season we have decided on for sure. # 1 change will be a 3 division with 4 teams in each division. Also we will be changing the number of teams getting into the playoffs from 4 teams to 7 teams. #1 seed will have week 15 off and top 2 teams in each division will be in and the 7th team will be the wild card team. ( Team with best record not in top 2 in division ) We will also be adding pts for Defense / Special Teams. Interceptions, Fumble recoveries will get you pts. Don't have exact formula worked out and we are open to sugestions as well but we will be doing an overhaul in this area. Also looking for feedback as to seeing if coaches would like to up the entry fee from 20.00 dollars. Thinking of ways that teams making the playoffs winning something somehow? As it stands now, the winner of the SuperBowl wins 160.00 dollars and the runner-up wins 80.00 dollars. If we raised the entry fee to 30.00 or 40.00 we could have 120.00 to 240.00 extra for the playoff teams. Think about it coaches, nothing is etched in stone and every coach has a say or vote to most changes so let us know what you think. Had a blast this season and i hope everyone did as well, this is the end of the 2011 UFL season for all teams except the SuperBowl Teams. Looking forward to 2012 ! Any coach not wanting to return please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust Draft Order.
